Behind the Scenes
After taking the original idea and putting in some perspective and some finishing touches, "Where's the Plunger" the drawing was complete. From there it was scanned into the computer looking like this.

After a cartoon is scanned we run each cartoon through a special process that we like to use that cleans up the image and then creates vectors out of the image. Sometimes Jeff won't like the way something in the drawing looks and we are able to clean it up or correct it in this stage. By creating vectors we can then color the cartoon in Adobe Illustrator and if we don't like the color we can change it with just a simple mouse click. Also by making the cartoon a vectored image we are able to use it at any size and not have to worry about quality because vectors are resolution independent, they maintain much crisper looking lines. Notice the specks and dust on the scan (our scanner is a little old but still works!) those are of course removed here too.
